    Worked for me.

    Fan is small (3.25 inch) but quiet. My laptop is hot on one side. This chill mat removes heat enough that I can use it on my lap. This was not possible before. Laptop burned my leg. There is a similarly priced mat w/a larger fan I almost bought. I bought this because of positive reviews. I did not realize the fan was so small. But, I am happy w/my purchase.

    NOT useful, in fact painful, on one'a lap!

    Unless your CPU is EXACTLY in the middle of your laptop, don't buy this device! The fan is in the center of the cooling mat, but I doubt any laptops have their CPU there. The device did NOT cool my X1 Carbon, 1 st gen, which has the hottest parts in the upper left hand corner of the laptop. No cooling occurred. In addition, this cooler has 4 "feet" on the bottom, so it is very uncomfortable on one's lap! It seems to have been made to be used on a desktop, not on your lap. Thus I returned it and bought a 2 fan cooler with NO feet on the bottom, which works very well.

    Under-powered

    The unit is limited with not only one fan for moving air; the air it moves seems limited for a laptop. Seems better for pads but what do I know? Shipment and care were excellent but again I expected more than I should have.

    Needs more than just 1 fan.

    I didn't notice in the description that it only had one fan. It that fan is covered with your leg or whatever, air flow is hindered. I wold get a 3 fan unit so at least one fan is blowing air up towards your laptop. But it works fine.
