From The Adventure Team to The Greatest American Hero: In 1982 I saw an advertisement for this new Gi Joe product I had the first 8 Gi Joe RAH figures what made me buy them first off was the artwork it reminded me of the Adventure Team I wasn't to learn until later that it was the same artist who did the art for the Adventure Team figures and outfits and sets so yes it hooked me into it. Then I saw that there was a Marvel Gi Joe comic that was coming out. I had to get those and the different 7-11's that I tried to find them it was hit or miss mostly miss. But then in the later mid eighties this came out and I had to have the series and then had to have the characters from this well crafted though a commercial for the vehicles and accessories which were close to the original Joe line up. The stories yeah had a sort of one dimensional feel to each person. Gung Ho being a Kajun and some of the other guys just seemed to have that close to the comedic form of story telling. But in the end The Mass Device was a great show when put end to end covering the whole arc. Now that I am and have been collecting the 12 inch line of figures I had during the mid to late 70's I've also been collecting the Hall of Fame 12 inch action figures and do not feel it is taking away from anything else to have them alongside the vintage figures from that Adventure themed characters. All in all I think that kids even fifty or more years from now could identify with the characters and the idea of fighting against the odds to save the world not just America. It's not as good as Gi Joe the Movie the animated version but to me that movie has a lot more problems then this one does. It will always be a favorite Animated Joe moment in time.
