About this product

Product Information

After dominating the action-based football scene for nearly 15 years, EA Sports trades in the pigskin for a clipboard with NFL Head Coach. The first strategy-oriented football game on home consoles, NFL Head Coach utilizes the developer's Madden NFL graphics engine to simulate the daily trials and tribulations of a user-created coach. After interviewing for a position with a favorite NFL team, players will be expected to assemble a winning program through drafts, trades, free agency, and more. Before each game, playbooks must be examined and modified, team strategies must be set, and rival teams must be analyzed to expose potential weaknesses. Coaches will also need to motivate their star athletes to perform to the best of their abilities, meet with agents and staff members, and oversee training camp. The goal is to become a Hall of Fame head coach by fulfilling team objectives in a career spanning 30 seasons.

  • Head Coach

Head Coach is exactly what the title presents. You get to be a head coach for pretty much any team as long as you pass the interview process. After that you get Team proposals and pick a team. Then you go through and pick the players you want to re-sign or get rid of. Simming anytime during this process pretty much screws everything up so make sure you take the time and go through all the processes. After signing and releasing players and staff you get ready for the draft by sending your scout out to find players to fill your empty slots. Before the draft you get the chance of making trade offers. Which is great because you can trade crappy players for first round draft picks (If you play your cards right) After the draft, you sign the new players a contract and run drills in ...

  • Pretty Fun Game

I like the game because it gives you the chance to be the coach of basically any team you want and for once it isnt a game where you take over and chuck a 90-yard TD pass on every play because you dont get to play and arm accuracy and strength is realistic. It's also fun because you need to strategize. Say your up against a team with good safteys, then you just run the ball alot, otherwise you will lose for sure. If your up against a team with good WR's then just play your guys farther back to make an interception. I like this game alot and do reccomend it :)..... The only bad thing is that the graphics arn't the best and it takes a long time to load.

  • Head Coach

Being a high school football coach, I enjoy the detail of this game. As the head coach for an NFL team, players get to make personnel decisions, scout players, and basically be the GM for the team during the offseason. During the season, the coach calls plays. Players will learn what it's like to depend on the performance of others to improve your personal reputation. All the little decisions impct your player rating. I recommend the game to football fans. Although EA Sports has done a fairly good job of simplifying the game and providing helps, I don't think the average non-diehard fan would enjoy it.

  • NFL Head coach, nice game for people with time.

Its a pretty heavily detailed game with all sorts of nuances of the experience. It goes so in depth though you feel like you have to play forever to get anywhere. When you coach in a game it is so mindnumbingly easy to obliterate the opposing team, and there is no way to make it harder, unless maybe it gets harder as the years go on, but I just havent the time or energy to do that these days. Its a pretty good game, just dont make any plans for a long time when you start.
