    Filter does not fit for older refrigerators, but can be modified to fit (read below)

    I have a 2011 Samsung Model RFG237AARS. After purchasing these new filters I found that they did not screw into the housing all the way so that it can lock, seal and work. After reading around I found a review where someone cut off the last little peg on the filter. You will see 1 long peg, and 2 short ones. The other person used a razor blade to cut off the last peg. I thought why not give this a try. After cutting off the last peg the filter screws completely in and works great! Water tastes great. I guess the guy I bought this from had a brand new unused filter in there and it wasn't even used. You will know that your filter works because it will screw all the way in to the lock position and make a hissing compression sound (you know that you are good to go). Filter out a few ...

IMPORTANT NOTE: Samsung long ago changed the design of the guide keys molded into the neck of the filter. If your existing filter has three-lug guide keys and you receive a two-lug guide key filter, you must modify the two-lug keys on both sides of the filter in order for it engage the filter housing. On YouTube view the "Samsung water filter modification" video for instructions. YOU CAN DO IT!

    Samsung Aqua-Pure Water Filter DA29-00003F Review

    Long-lasting, easy install. A simple twist locks the unit in place for use. The only downside seems to be initializing the unit and running so much water thru the system following install. All-in-all, a very good unit that seems to perform and provide clean pure water for an extended amount of time.
