Well-built! This transfer switch is definitely heavy-duty, built of medium gauge steel - UL approved.
It basically opens the "hot" lead between the circuit in your breaker box and the load, using a "break-before-make" switch. When switched to GEN, the unit connects the load to your source, which can be a generator or, in my case, a battery-powered power station.
NOTE: When using a power station, yours must permit the station's Neutral to be connected to house Neutral (and therefore ground!
