    Gameplay is solid. The story is weak.

    If you liked Ace Combat for the gameplay, this sticks to what you like. If you liked Ace Combat for the story, you're probably going to be disappointed. It's probably the weakest story (I don't count Assault Horizon as a real Ace Combat game, so take that bias into account) of the series, which is unfortunate, because the story is such a fun part of the previous entries. The characters aren't personable and it sounds like it's trying too hard to be like 4, 5, or Zero. But like I said, the gameplay is fun, and that's what you'll be spending most of your time doing anyway, so it's fine. The controller for me was too hard to get used to in its standard way, having played the others on the Playstation for, well, their entire lifetime, so I ended up using the alternative scheme.     Still enjoyable in 2018

    I bought this when it came out in 2007. Before that I played Ace Combat 4 & 5. Years later, I tried Assault Horizon... not the same feel at all. In fact, it caused me to want to buy Ace Combat 6 again in 2018. I enjoy playing it and hope AC7 is closer to AC6 than AC Assault Horizon. AC6 has a small tunnel run that gives a Star Wars feel, clouds that can add difficulty, and you can barrel roll. I love barrel rolling and shooting.

    Amazing

    This game is the best for dogfighting. Its realistic enough that you get the basic feel for being a fighter pilot, but it has enough game elements that enhance the fun too! 10/10 I had to add this to my collection. Been having so much fun with it.

    Fun for aircraft enthusiasts!

    Great action and fun gameplay. The storyline is a little cheesy, but you can't expect it to be like a real world simulator. There are plenty of games out there like that, but this isn't one of them. If you like a fun action-paced arcade style, it's perfect for that.
