Copy of USA made Schrade PH1
This knife is a close to an exact copy of the USA produced Schrade PH1 from the mid 1990s witch was a less expensive production copy of the original Schrade limited run RL2 Loveless. The size blade shape and weight are all the same. The handle material is Desert Iron Wood instead of the Delrin on the original. The wood is beautifully figured on my example. The blade material is 7cr13Mov instead of the 420HC of the original. This steel should be superior to the original steel if it is properly hardened. The sheath is also nearly identical to the original except that it is made from an artificial leather instead of leather. The sheath looks nice and fits the knife well although I do not expect it to last as well as the original. The only fault I can find with the knife is that the ... Great price and excellent quality. Mild stainless steel bade which sharpens as well as carbon but will hold a better edge. Been using schrade/old timer knives for 40 years. They hold up as well as any 100 dollar knife if not better. Wear on my belt everytime I go fishing or hiking. May have to buy another one in case this knife is ever discontinued. Only complaint is minor, and that is I wish the loop on sheath was bigger so it would fit my old us army web belt. But still a very nice sheath as well.Great price and excellent quality.
