Design flaw makes Heath/Zenith door chimes a poor choice
My Zenith DC-3361 door chime (bought on ebay) was unopened/new. But, the door chime was defective and did not work. Heath Zenith tech support was contacted, and we went through the obvious things, and the rep said, yes, it is defective. They did send me a new replacement very quickly (about 5 days). The replacement unit does work. So, Heath/Zenith does have good customer support. But, their door chimes all have an unusual and unnecessary feature that makes them dificult to install and "buggy". The chime will not work unless the cover is installed! (The cover is not easy to install, by the way.) The cover apparently has a protruding arm that must depress a hidden switch buried deep in the unit. If the switch is not depressed by this arm, or if the switch is defective (as was the case for ... My Zenith DC-3361 door chime (bought on ebay) was unopened/new. But, the door chime was defective and did not work. Avoid this brand of chime. The design is simply flawed.
