I know that Capcom has a reputation for inputting elements from its other games into new ones. I am happy to say it collected the good elements & created Lost Planet. An intriguing story that leaves a lot untold in the beginning & forces you to pay attention all the way to the end. I was very pleased with the graphics. The varied level environments & enemies are put together very well. Having the inside mech/on foot option is a great & rare balance. There is strategy that starts to form within that aspect of the game. The music compliments the game so much that it takes on a story book feel. Never dull with hints of urgency when needed. My only gripe personally was that they could have had unlockable characters for offline play too.
Lost Planet Colonies edition is one of the better Japanese re-releases of a console title that I've seen, and for good reason. First off, getting to play as the Akrid is a great addition to the game. Secondly, new weapons, maps, and characters add to the experience. The cross-platform play is good if you don't know anyone with a 360, or with Xbox live Gold. A few complaints about the game, however, would be the reload time. That takes a while, which leaves you open to attacks. Another issue, and I can't say for sure if this on the regular 360s, or just the 360 S, but it doesn't read the disk as Lost Planet, just as Game, which is a bit annoying. If not for the few minor flaws, this game might warrant a perfect score, but because of those, it loses a point. 4/5.
First of all the Disc came in Great Quality (Brand New Xbox Factory Sealed). Campaign Mode is fun, but only has some replay value. The main value of this game is the Xbox Live Multiplayer. You are given several different game types that you can choose from as well as the ability to search for matches and join the one that you want. For people who are bored with just fighting against other humans I recommend that they check out the game type Akrid Hunter, this is by far my favourite match type in this game and I can play for hours. Plus any game where everyone has grapple guns is just a good game.
I Think it's a awesome game. The only bad thing is the replay value on it. I will probably only play the game through once every year and a half....maybe. I recomemd it to everyone. My dad plays it now so...It wasn't a total waist. Don't get me wrong though.... It's a sweet game.
If you enjoyed the first Lost Planet game, then you must have this one. Even if you are new to the LP world now is a good time to get acquainted with it. This game has a pretty decent story mode, but the multiplayer on this game is the some of the best out there. The new additions on this game are great. Akrid Hunter, Akrid Egg Battle, Counter Post Grab, and more new games are available on multiplayer. Get yourself a copy and join the fun.
