Being a race fan and Need For Speed collector i just had to own NFS Most Wanted Black Edition. I read all the hype about the extra cars, tracks and the new challenges. Most Wanted for Game Cube is now my favorite game so i was really up to the extras Black Edition offered. First the bonus cars in Black Edition can only be used in the quick races. Also Black Edition only offers one new challenge (Black Edition Challenge) which i defeated very easy with the beautiful Camero SS which sadly you don't win the car. The bonus cd was in my opinion was a wasted effort and only added to the hype. There was nothing of real importance on the disk. So, overall i have been very disappointed. I could have bought Most Wanted and saved a lot of money. The game does offer a few added bonuses. In Black Edition it will now rain, there are birds, the graphics blurr from speed, the sky changes colors, there are some new Police cars and you get a few bonus graphics. Don't get me wrong i really like Need for Speed Most Wanted and welcome Black Edition into my NFS collection but, i really feel short changed. I let all the hype around Black Edition make my descision when buying it. I beleived that Black Edition was going to be a complete makeover from the Game Cube game. I was wrong. NFS Most Wanted is a must have game but, save your money when it comes to Black Edition. Trust me when i say the added features are not worth the added cost.Read full review
Well I played this game on the Xbox 360 a while ago but I don't know what happened to it. So I decided to get the PC version insted (in this case for my laptop so I can take it on the go). After installing the four(4) disks (well at least it was decent, not to fast or slow) I played it right away. When playing the frame rate was a little choppy (maybe because my graphics card or the laptop got hot quickly I don't know) but it was playable. Almost the same thing as the console versions just more options like detailing, shadow, screen size, frame rates just to name a few. The overall gameplay is great the sound and sountrack are good too. I like this game alot and I am still playing it.
This is a fun racing game. The actual racing part of the game is not as realistic as GTR or DIRT, but it adds a whole story line and virtual world that makes it more of an adventure typ game than GTR or DIRT. For streight racing DIRT is still my favorite. I do not like the online game play of GTR or DIRT though. In GTR you have to wait forever for the race to start, and the tracks are so long you rarely see other cars (you might as well race alone). You never see the other cars in DIRT only a marker showing your place relative to the other cars (again not so fun). I boutght NFS Most Wanted to play online. I have only played the game once online and got my butt handed to me so I decided I should beat the game first for practice, then I will try the online portion again. So I do not have an opinion of the online play yet. I will say that the adventure portion of the game is not as fun as Grand Theft Auto since you never leave the car, but the driving portion of the game is much better than driving in Grand Theft Auto. Also the interface for NFS Most Wanted kind of sucks because I can not use my driving wheel to navigate all the menus without using the mouse. This makes me have to get out of the driving seat and go over to my computer to use the mouse (yuck!). Luckily I don't have to do this very often or I would have rated the game lower. Still it is a very fun game and I highly recommend it.Read full review
I like this version of the game as well as the original Most Wanted is because it is a legend and there are also some more bonus cars and an extra challenge series event at the bottom of the event list as well. What I don't like about the game and the original Most Wanted is that it has unfair annoying rubber-banding AI and when that issue kicks in, the AI opponents soon or eventually catch up to you, even when they have made a mistake before that causes them to slow down or stop their cars to a halt. I also don't like the drag races in the game is because some of them aren't straight lines and you can't change the traffic density level or even turn it off either. I was sure to make some progress in the game and I didn't beat career mode, but I'm doing my best and the good news is that some of the Action Reply Max cheat codes for the game work perfectly, but I can't say the same for the original Most Wanted because it freezes up at the loading screen after using one or a few of the cheats.Read full review
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Bought it in spite of how lame the new NFS is. This game Beats it every possible way except for graphics of course. The acting in this game is so bad it makes this game worth playing. Car customization is awesome though not as good as Underground 2 but much better than the one for current gen consoles. Controls are great and there's a lot of variety to keep you racing. Though like all racing games, I got annoyed with the repetitive sound track after 2 hours. Nostalgia factor is always a plus. Enjoying this game 8 years later.
