AmScope SM-4TP is a solid Stereo Microscope for your PCB inspection/rework
There are lots of choices out there when your in the market for a new (or replacement) stereo microscope. Sifting through the models and feature can get a little out of hand. After a fair bit of research I decided to give the recommendations of Louis Rossmann (YouTuber) a try - I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the Microscope. Optics are razor sharp, comes with the Trinocular port for an (optional) C-Mount camera for taking video (not something I need) and High Resolution Stills (very handy). One very important feature is the whole 'Simul-Focal" feature which allows you to use the camera port WITHOUT switching OFF one of the two Eye channels (which means you don't have to work 'as a cyclops' to get the job done while using a camera). The whole reason for getting a 'stereo' ... There are lots of choices out there when your in the market for a new (or replacement) stereo microscope. The whole reason for getting a 'stereo' microscope is to provide some depth perception, so shutting down one eye piece while using a camera would be unacceptable, luckily this model has you covered. All parts are precision made and assemble like a dream (10 minutes tops). One little issue that should be pointed out, the Base of this m'scope is VERY heavy (the whole setup I think is around 50lbs+ with the base probably being 80% of the weight), now this is good for stability but horrible if you are ordering internationally. Shipping will likely be crazy. That said the whole thing arrived with absolutely not a mark on it, so the packaging is sufficient for shipping protection. I absolutely recommend this product, solid construction, with not a single issue out of the box even though the whole item was shipped from the Southern US to where I live in Canada (Toronto). If you do Printed Circuit Board (PCB) inspection, SMD Soldering or Rework, this product has you covered. I can finally give my horrible eyesight a break. This item was a welcome addition to my work bench.
