    Specifically for X-Runner, with the TRD short shifter driver must be constantly reminded its a truck, it is as close to a sports car as you could get.

    I installed the TRD short shifter to my 2008 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner I feel this should have been factory standard equipment specially for an X-Runner. This truck is as close to a sports car a truck could get, with the short shifter you only realize its a truck at a stop light. Shorter throws makes driving this truck that much more pleasurable. Built quality is as good as OEM quality, not cheap quality, both look identical except the longer bottom end on the TRD short shifter. Throws feel shorter, tighter and sharper, little to no play between gears. All the gears tighten up so there is no exception for the reverse which is already tight making it a tad bit tighter than usual. Product delivers what it promises. I did read misconception about the reverse gear where there is no understanding ...

    love the new shift knob. It is on my short shifter and works great

    Absolutely love the shift knob. It works great and does not heat up in the sun. Easy to install and feels nice. It sits slightly higher than the stock knob because where the threads are in the ball and is a good fit for the short through shifter from TRD. Probably works great on a normal shift set up too.
