Excellent condition just as described/pictured, fast shipping and securely packed to protect the book from any nefarious people at USPS who like to destroy packages (and there are many -- King Kong among them). Thanks so much! A+++ seller.

First, I would say I am highly pleased with the communication from this vendor. He informed me quickly of a discrepancy between his listing and the actual book. I very much respect the honesty in doing business. Secondly, the book arrived well packed and intact. I was very pleased with the condition of the book when it arrived. Very happy camper.

  • Turning of the Tide

This book chronicles another example of how sports can positively influence other societal institutions, in this case by initially helping facilitate integration in D-1 football in the South. It seems clear that integration was not forced on Bear Bryant, but that Bear was an active participant in knowingly bringing John McKay's national championship caliber integrated USC Trojans to Alabama. The one-sided USC victory opened many disingenuous and/or prejudiced eyes and encouraged the SEC and the South to get up-to-speed athletically and societally.

being raised in alabama was aware of what this game did for intergration of sports in the deep south but did not know what went on behind the scenes . good informative book that explains how much change this one particular game did change the way alabama viewed the black athlete . i thouroughly enjoyed this book and at times had tears in my eyes . would highly recommend reading especially if you were from the south .

  • Turning of the Tide

This book was well written and made more interesting to read because it is a true story. I decided to buy it because I'd never heard the story before and I'm a great admirer of Bear Bryant.
