    Great Sound, improved microphone and response.

    The 2nd generation is a vast improvement over the 1st gen. The new design is smaller and compact, but the sound quality is noticeably better. The most improvement is in the far-field microphone technology, the system is a lot more sensitive and seems to pickup the wake word easier and at lower volumes. The "drop in" function works like an intercom between echos, and is probably one of my favorite features. I am constantly using it to communicate with people through out the house.

    May present problems with install

    Directions indicate that the Echo can be activated via a computer but even with Windows 10 it has presented problems that have yet to be resolved. It may also be activated via a Smartphone which may present a problem to those that do not have that option which we do not. It would be nice if it would be possible to speak with an associate that would walk the customer through the set-up procedure. Have had the unit for several weeks and personal time constraints prohibit having it activated but it does make a very nice paper weight.

    This is one super great item to have in your home. You can ask it any question and you will get the correct answer when you ask. We have four of them in our house that's how much that we like them plus our family enjoys the music that it plays all you have to do is to tell Alexa what kind of music that you want and with in a heart beat you have that kind of music. The speaker system is just great the quality and sound is great. To sum it all up buy one and have a lot of fun asking it different questions and be amazed at the different answers that you get plus enjoy the nice sound of the music. Thanks Bill

    Shorter in statue with same features

    Everything about the hardware is fine and works very well but I do have some issues with Alexa herself but I could contribute that to my lack of knowledge of working with Alexa.....what I mean is she doesn't always answer me nor does she always follow directions (maybe my lack of Alexa knowledge).
