    P25 phase 2 simulcast- No problem!

    This scanner reliably receives P25 phase 2 simulcast. It receives the entire transmission with no distortion. Blows the BCD436 and the TRX1 out of the water. For the inexperienced user, enter your zip code, and you're good to go. The stock antenna works, but there are better band specific antennas out there.

    Good for simulcast 700/800 MHz systems.

    Works really well on the 700/800 MHz simulcast systems with the new firmware update. Battery gives only about 6.5-7 hours of use, so may want to invest in the external battery charger which comes with an extra battery. The audio from the speaker is fair, not great. If you need a good portable scanner to handle simulcast sites, this one works well. Otherwise if you don't have simulcast sites in your area, then a less expensive BCD436 would be a better alternative for UHF/VHF standard trunking systems.

    Top Notch Scanner!

    Excellent scanner. I have paired it with a Diamond RH519 antenna using the SMA to BNC adapter that Uniden includes with the scanner and it receives both analog and digital very well with it.

    Worth the money. Plus initial purchases will get a new battery once they upgrade the new battery for unit.

    The SDS100 is a Beast. I can pick up channels I couldn't with my BCD436HP. Also, the audio seems to be much clearer than my BCD436HP. The best thing is I took my programming from my BCD436HP (in Sentinel) and copied it right to the SDS100. Easy as pie I was up and running in minutes with programming I have spent hours on with old scanner.
