Fixed the washer
I was Leary about buying a used transmission for the washer but the price was less than half the new part price. The part was cleaned up well and had now issues. Internally, there is a plastic gear that wears over time and can break when stressed. There is no play in the movement that would indicate wear. The washer performs perfectly. Good Value - Bad Packaging
First, this used transmission solved the problem with our washing machine. If it continues to perform then we are satisfied with the purchase. The packaging was TERRIBLE! (see photo). It was amazing that the shaft was not damaged. The motor mounting plate was bent (from dropping) and needed to be removed and straightened. A significant amount of gear oil had leaked out of the transmission and soaked the cardboard packaging and the external clutch shoes. Also, some external components were rusted......as I said, I hope there is enough oil left in the transmission to keep it running.

New Whirlpool gearbox
I received the Gearcase quickly and installed it it works good does the job so far my only compliant is that it’s a lot louder then my original Whirlpool gearbox when it pumps the water out just before spinning out when in neutral. So I disconnected the water pump and ran it still noisy so it’s not the pump it’s in the gearbox. so I’m concerned it may have some friction going on causing it to fail sooner will have to wait and seeVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
