Great Product
This pump works well. As a replacement to the cartridge filter it is a night and day difference. Out of the box, one of the threaded collars on the intake hose was broken, We didn't need that as our summerwaves pool has 1.25 inch fittings. It came with a new water jet. We had to trim the hole in the liner for it, but It does fit without leaks. For the first 3 days we had to backwash the sand a lot. I think 7 times over the first week. Our pool was very cloudy. The pressure gauge didn't work for a few days, so we would backwash when water coming out was not as strong. After a weeks the water was clear and the pump is operating well. ordered sand filter pump, due to the small filter just wasn't keeping up with the pool, to prevent allege from growing. Pool was already in a state of greenish water . Looked up the size i needed for pool ordered pump. it was here, faster than expected. un packaged on a Saturday evening, and already had the silicon sand on hand . Previous i already had a bypass system in place, so all i needed was the adaptors to go from smaller hoses to 1 1/2 hose. Built the platform, installed the sand, less than 2 hours later up and running. Ran pump initially for 12 hours, no problems. Continued to filter the water for about another 4-5 days adjusting the PH and After a severe Shock treatment, crystal clear water. Kids back to swimming. totally recommend this product. All ready looking into getting ... ordered sand filter pump, due to the small filter just wasn't keeping up with the pool, to prevent allege from growing. Bought this sand filter pump to upgrade from the1500 GPH cartridge filter that came with our Intex 18 by 4 ft Quick Set Pool. The cartridges were getting hard to find, expensive and needed attention too frequently. The old pump was also noisy. The new Intex sand filter was easy to assemble following the included directions and is a major improvement. It is much quieter, more powerful and will be much easier to care for. It has been operating for over one week with no diminishment in pump performance Hooked right up to existing 1 1/2 Intex pool hoses. It took 77 pounds of pool filter sand (about 1 1/2 50 lbs bags) to fill the filter. The sand is supposed to only need replacement after five years. Watched a You Tube video on the backwash process to clean the sand. It looks so much simpler ... VMInnovations was very fast in shipping, pump was easy to set up. I have the "small strainers" so I ordered the hose adapter B and connected right up. In the future I will buy the "Large Strainer" for a better fit. Overall I love the pump it circulates the water better than I imagined. I do recommend this pump.
