Sinnock, chief engraver of the U.S. Mint, this silver coin depicts an image of President Franklin D. Roosevelt by replacing the Mercury dime. However, the obverse design of this Roosevelt dime has Sinnock’s initials as “JS” at the base of Roosevelt’s neck. Commemorating the President’s great contribution in the founding of the National Foundation to eradicate Infantile Paralysis, this 1955 Roosevelt dime was chosen to honor him.
