    Nice but could be better!

I believe for the price it's a very nice tripod, the movement is sooooo smoth, but i would love if it wasnt so wobly, i believe that is because of how you have to extend to it's full size to get a decent height. if you are a bit shorter than 163cm i believe you might not need the whole extension and that will make it more stable. Apart from that i am very happy with the purchase, it's only my first tripod i used to use one that was supposed to have lights on it, it's definitely a good upgrade. Good purchase if you are just starting and can'r spend much.

  • Very stable and excellent fluid head

I was looking for affordable but still ridgid tripod for use with my Canon D80 for video and photographs. I studied lots of reviews and this was rated to be best of its class. Can't argue that. It is very stable and it has innovative features such as ballhead which can be tightened to plum position. Fluid head movement is excellent for video and the base is big enough. It's not super small or light, but light can't be stable. And I'm not going to be carrying this around all day long, so no big deal for me.

  • Stable and smooth

I am very pleased with the Magus VT 4000. It is a stable filming platform and operates very smoothly. The head's ball and bubble level make setting up fast. Adjusting the balance for my camera was easy I found it quick and simple to correct for lens changes.

  • Solid product

For supporting a mirrorless camera, this tripod is likely overkill, but for the price it's hard to ask for a better product. Unfortunately there's no resistance adjustment, but you do get the pan/tilt locks and a QD plate. Tripod stands nice and tall, and comes with a carry bag. Made of aluminum, so the weight is manageable, but I wouldn't want to go backpacking with it. Ball head makes leveling the tripod a snap, and it moves smoothly. The counterbalance is non-adjustable and was made for a camera heavier than mine, but it's something I'm willing to deal with.

  • big bang for the Buck

Manfrotto might have a slight edge in stability but costs many dollars more than the Magnus other wise all you are buying with the Manfrotto is the name. I am very glad I chose the Magnus VT-4000. It suits my video needs perfectly and recommend iit to both amateurs and pro video makers.
