First off, this title really lives up to its namesake of Ridge Racer. It is an awesome arcade-style racing game. The graphics are great, as well as the gameplay. You can choose from a variety of cars and a seemingly endless amount of customization. The only down-side I saw with this game is that when racing on tracks at night, the tail lights from other cars tend to streak. However, the one way I found to fix this is to never be racing behind another car! Also, the motion sensor control for the game is very touchy and hard to get used to. You can choose whether you want to steer with the left stick or tilt the controller as a steering wheel. I always stuck with the left stick since the motion sensor just doesn't feel right. On the good side, the single player mode is extremely involved and long- it will take you a while to play through it. Also, the online mode is a lot of fun. This game does support two players on the same console, however, it can get boring since it is only the two of you on the track and you cannot race against the rest of the field. But the pros far outweigh the cons for this title. If you are looking for a great racer for the PS3 that really shows off the PS3's power, go for Ridge Racer 7 because you will not be disappointed.Read full review
I purchased Ridge Racer 7 for the PS3 a couple of weeks ago and have had a lot of fun with it. The graphics are nice, and if you like arcade racing games, this is definately a must buy. The single player mode will keep you busy for a long time, unlocking different items that you can use on and off line. The online play is also great fun, and you can compete with players from around the world. The only thing I wish was included would be the ability to talk to your competition via a headset. I guess Namco felt that it would create too much confusion between say an American player who spoke no Japaneese and a Japanese player who spoke no English. Besides this minor complaint, the graphics look sharp, and the gameplay is good ol' Ridge Racer fun! I would definately reccomend this title to anyone looking for a good PS3 racer.Read full review
Loved the game itself, fully-customizable cars, excellent soundtrack and heart-pounding drift racing. The game starts off easy at first, until the game's difficulty begins ramping up into the late 77% with monstrous fast like heck special vehicles almost unbeatable makes their presence known as the Angelus and the crinale which requires a lot of strategies with the right vehicle parts and patience. It's a real shame that there won't be another game like RR7 like it, Other than ridge racer 4, 5, and 6 also the original 1st two games on the Ps1. ;(

This is definitely one of the better launch titles for the PS3, boasting good graphics, gameplay, and fun. The online mode is also great, but don't expect winning any races until you become an expert. If you are debating between this and Need For Speed, consider the following: 1)In Ridge Racer, you are able to partially install the game onto the hard drive for faster loading times. 2)The driving physics are intentionally unrealistic, so you can go around corners at 190+ MPH!!! 3)The cars are imaginary, so no Ferraris or Porsches. For quick and easy fun, GET THIS GAME... DO NOT get this game if you want a driving simulator.
you want a racing game with cool exotic cars, great graphics, and nice looking racing courses then this is it! but don't get your hopes up because if you're looking to have a racer simulation experience then forget it! the cars are really fast and drifting is unrealistic in this game. cars turn the corners like toy hot-wheel cars racing on electronic tracks and getting right back into the correct position to only speed up and continue racing like nothing happened. oh, and cars bounce off each other and railings like bumper cars. if you just want a great looking racing game and just want to race without all the physics and realistic feel to it then this might just be the best one up your alley. you might want to try before you buy.
