I played this game as a child on the commodore 64. I dislike reading descriptions of it as a "guantlet-like" game. It is far more complex than guantlet, in that you can create your own levels and it has a far greater selection of beasties, not all of whom simply attack you. There is a vast variety of treasures all of which have an effect, much like magical items of different varieties in an rpg game. It therefore has more of a feel of an actual dungeon-based rpg, rather than just a guantlet feel which is more just shoot the badders and make your way through the maze without much more than that. If you are creating a retro Commodore 64 collection, I recommend getting your hand on this one as it was not ported to many other systems(or any that I know of) and so is quite unique and underappreciated gem. *note- try to get it with the "cipher disk" because this additional prop is needed for gameplay. Although you can find cheats to get past the cipher on the internet.Read full review
