I guess it is a good thing that I bought the 2 year warranty because the VCR part of this unit didn't work. It was a Christmas gift for my teen aged granddaughter and as soon as we got it all hooked up she put in one of the older tapes she loves and the unit ate it ( as in crumpled the tape and destroyed it). She tired two other and they did the same thing. The DVD part seems to work ok. I was very disappointed and embarrassed giving a gift I trusted to work but it didn't . Now we have to go through the trouble of trying to get it fixed. Not a happy camper here and a very disappointed grand daughter.
