  • Last great album from the original Queensryche

Hear In The Now Frontier is Queensryche's response to the 1990's "grunge" era of music. It was a very interesting album with some great songs presented. I prefer their earlier classic progressive metal sound on albums like Rage For Order, Empire, and Operation Mindcrime. The greatest thing about Hear In The Now Frontier is that it's the original line up of band members.

  • This is a great album

Hear In The Now Frontier contains down-to-earth straightforward songs with a very intimate production. Everything is close to the listener. Straightforward and heavy guitar riffs with relaxing and mostly groovy drum rhythms are the main focus here, with the necessary catchy vocal melodies on top. The band focuses a lot more on the feel of the songs, rather than the instrumental performances. The album feels incredibly organic. The songs really flow together. The album streams really well as there are characteristics to each song that really attach itself to the album. The strength of this album doesn’t lie in the skill and dexterity of its individual musicians, but rather in how they blend nicely together. The subtle nuances of the guitar leads melding with the changes in lyrics displays a ...

  • Pop Queensryche for an oversaturated market

This is a good album...for Queensryche. Not their best...Chris Degarmo was on his way out as this was finishing up, but melodically it is sound. It sounds like they were trying to revisit their pop sound of Empire and grasp still yet a larger audience. But keep in mind they also had a video game come out around this time as well. So the market was saturated and it was going to Tate's head. Still I enjoy this when I don't want to think about too much. Always a good fun listen.

  • Hear in the Now Frontier

I am a Queensryche fan and saw this disc so I figured I would take a chance on it. Am I glad I did! If you don't know Queensryche they are hard rock, maybe metal, with a full sound with plenty of keyboard swells and electric guitars. The lyrics are compelling and insightful, the music rocks with a great dummer setting the groove and full instrumentation. Every song is great with no fillers in there, and most of all the recording is fantastic. It just made me want to turn it up louder, well engineered and a moving performance. Highly recommended.
