Never know with used games! This particular one didn't come with a CD key but since it's so old I used one I had laying around. Game installed and played perfect, although I use it as a platform for a mod. It also works great for that!

Battlefield 2 is currently my favorite online war game to play. Battlefield has amazing game play! You are able to use so many different weapons including Snipers, heat seeking missiles, guided missiles, pistols, hand grenades, really any weapon you have seen in any other war game, it is in this one. Battlefield 2 also has many vehicles to drive in, depending on what team you are on. You can always steal your opponents vehicle anyway. You can fly different varieties of helicopters, Jets, Tanks, APC's, Anti-Air, Anti-Ground, Hummers, buggies, jeeps.. So many. The graphics in this game are exceptional and rarely lags for me. The only negative thing about this game is that the game often crashes. It is a known problem for this game and EA is trying to come up with patches to prevent it from happening. So don't have that problem prevent you from getting this amazing game. I highly recommends that you buy it if you like online shooters. Requirements are not too demanding but is obviously more fun when you don't lag. I love this game but was a little disappointed when I bought it because of the limited singleplayer game. You can play it to get practice for the real game, which is multiplayer. You can't earn any ranks or unlock any guns in the singleplayer mode. The maps on singleplayer are also very limited. It is still a great game. If you have a broadband internet connection and a good graphics card (256MB+ I prefer NVIDIA) you will love this game. The people are great and much more fun than any singleplayer game you will find. You can earn new guns, badges, medals, ribbons and ranks when you play online. The vehicles are great and maps are exiting. It's easy to get hooked on this game.
I would have loved to be led through a campaign with the maps in this game, but that wasn't an option. The dozen or so maps will have you searching the Internet for mods after you have gone through every one of the included maps. Installation was a nightmare, requiring closure of ALL non-system processes, and several tries before I succeeded. You are limited in rank until you join the online community, and rack up points and demonstrate skills. Endless hours of frustration are included in this game system. And yet, I keep going back to it, over and over, trying to master flying vehicles, a half-dozen specialized character types, dozens of weapons (including landmines and C4 explosives!) Don't bother with this game if your PC has less that 1.5GHz power and no 128Mb graphics card.Read full review
To all who read this, I had played the BF 2 Game on a friends pc, and immediately was hooked, it is extremely fun and addicting, mostly because it has almost unlimited scenarios and a wide assortment of weapons and vehicles, as well as aircraft, to jump into and use, as your heart desires! The MultiPlayer mode allows you to play online with people from all over the world, and the battles are intense, realistic, and can last as long, or short, as you want, of course you Respawn when killed, so getting shot, or blown up, or shot down, doesn't affect your stay, in the battle! Rank and weapon unlocks are also a plus, with experience, you'll survive longer and enjoy even more, the game that I spend alot of quality, enjoyable time playing! A must get for realistic War simulation gamers!!
I have played really every pc shooter game out there. Battlefield 2 is the best there is. The graphics are excellent and unlike most online games, lag is almost non existent when you play online. Some of the things that you never get tired of are the vehicles. Unlike call of duty 4 where you look at the vehicles ONLY in bf2 you can actually look, touch and drive them. You can fly jets and choppers. There is a commander mode which is awesome. You can be a commander where you control the entire map just like in real war. You can send down airstrikes on the enemy and save your mens rear ends from being over taken. You can send needed supplies with parachute drops, to your men fighting in the trenches. You can launch UAV radar that flys over the enemy and exposes their position to your men. Likewise your men can talk to you LIVE on the headsets and they'll ask you things like "Commander I keep getting shot at, theres a sniper around here somewhere but we can't find him where is he?" As commander you can zoom in using satellite and see the sniper and point them out to the men even using your headset mic. There is a Ranking system also so as you fight and kill enemy you get awards. If you are injured (too often) on field of battle for example you get the purple heart. This ranking system is great as you can buddy up, during the game, with a higher ranking player and follow them around and fight next to them to pick up tips and find out how they got so good and high ranked? There is a demo of this game and I suggest you download it. If the demo runs on your system then the full retail game surely will. This will be a game that you will never stop playing ever. The maps are extremely huge and vast. One of the things I didn't like about call of duty 4 is that the maps were so tiny teeny. You could run across the map in less than 60 seconds. In Bf2 you couldn't run across the entire map as it's too huge it would take you a long time. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this game. It is the best investment of fun I have ever bought for my pc!Read full review

i bought this game aobut a month and a half after came out, due to pressure from my friends. when you first start to play, the game seems unbeliveably hard, dont worry about that, i was pretty pissed to at how bad i was doing. BF2 offers a wide array of maps and roles in the battlefield, even including roles like medic, engineer, and supply. but it also has the great basics of course; special ops, assult, sniper, and a interesting plus: anti tank. due to the massive scale of this game, and the ammount of people on one server, decent graphics cards will get some lag, but that must be expected playing on a gigantic map with 63 other players. BF2 is also one of the few games to have ranks, as you get kills and skill points (medic heals and revives, resupply, repar of tanks/APCs etc...) you advance in the ranks, starting out as private, then lance corpral, corpral, and so on, if you get much higher than corpral, that probably means either you have had the game since it came out, or you just like it so much you play it way to much. BF2 is one of the most organised multiplayer games i have seen. in couter strike and other half life mods, you are usually all alone, but not in BF2. the game has 2 levels of leader ship, comander, and squad leader. the commander is the head of his team, he can issue orders, fire artillary, drop supplies, send out an unmanned scout plane, and scan the entire map. alot is riding on the commander of your team, many times a bad commander can loose the round for you. the squad leader is a very basic position, all it enbles you to do is to call to the comander and request things, of course there is no garantee that he will lend you a hand. the squad leader can also issue orders to his squad members. the most important thing about a squad member is that you can spawn on him. on the maps there can be about 5- a max of about 12, and sometimes its a real pain to run to where you last where. that is where the squad leader comes in, if you stay in a group, and your squad leader stays alive, you can respawn on him, making you get back into the battle much faster, but some times you can spawn directly into enemy fire, often resulting in your immediate and extreamly confusing death. overall BF2 is a great game, some little bugs are left still, but many of the patches have fix them, the expansion for the game is also planned to come out at about christmas 05. oh and yes, i would fully recomend buying this game and its expansion when it comes out!Read full review
I love this game because it is fun to play. It has modern military weaponry and when you get to certain points in the game, it has additional weapons that can be unlocked giving better accuracy and more deadly power. You can fight on either side of the war as the USMC or a couple of other different coalitions. The vehicles and aircraft are very accurate as to the looks and operation of the real thing. I have had this game since 2005 and bought this copy for my son so he could start playing online with me. There is also a ranking system that allows the player to gain ranks just as they would in the real military with everyone starting out as a Private and working their way toward General with the ranks following the USMC rank structure. This information is kept current for you by the BF2 server you sign into when you begin playing. There are also medals and ribbons you earn for completing certain objectives. You can play as a soldier, as part of a squad, as a squad leader or as the commander. Squad leaders can request supplies and vehicles, etc. The Commander can use UAVs and Artillery and send the supplies and vehicles to the troops.Read full review
