Great price, great features.
This chipper-shredder works better than the cheaper , smaller 5 hp chipper shredders that I have used in the past. The size of the engine, the electric start and the overall size of the machine is a plus for the price. The branch chipper works great. The shredder does not work as well. You have to feed it very slow and it still plugs up no matter if you are doing leaves or small branches or both at the same time. A lot of 3 to 6 in long pieces of small branches make it through the shredder,also. This chipper-shredder works better than the cheaper , smaller 5 hp chipper shredders that I have used in the past. Northern Tool Wood Chipper.
We haven't used it much yet, but I did put a couple of branches about 2" diameter thru it and it handled them well. Also put a few smaller branches down thru the top without issue. Make sure you're not trying to hold on to the branches, it will grab them out of your hand. I'm sure all of the chippers out there will do that. Wood chipper
For a home owner it’s a good tool, small brush and yard work is fine. If you have to tow it, I would not recommend it. The wheel base is not wide enough. It’s top heavy and turns over quickly. A $175 dollars shipping is outrageous. If your looking to make quick work of limbs and brush, look elsewhere. It is time consuming and labor intensive.
