HIGH praise for this seller! I purchased 6 books from them and their prices were phenomenal and the condition was BETTER than advertised. They came looking absolutely flawless and were described as "good" or "very good". I am so pleased! Their communication was very quick and thorough and they shipped immediately while taking care to ship carefully. I could not be happier. I absolutely will buy from this seller again!

  • This might be an early transition thing...

If I could, I'd lean a little more toward 3.5 as a rating. In part because some of the tracks suffer from what many 80s punk recordings suffer from - ROUGH mastering! And there's a couple of other points... I was never too crazy about Husker Du. I always remember their earliest stuff as falling too easily into the "faster & louder" hardcore. This album captures some of that and later "maturation" (i.e.: slowing down & moving grunge-ward). But this comp is kind of nice to hear again - yeah, I'm one of those people that sold almost all my vinyl years ago. There is kind of a mix in style here with some songs reminding me a bit of mid tempo punk like a Government Issue or Alice Donut at times, and then some of the songs they used to play in between bands at clubs that were catchingly ...

  • Interesting artifact

You should only get this if you are a huge fan of Husker Du. It’s really cool to hear these early songs and the bonus tracks are great but it is not the best introduction because it’s kind of all over the place. If you like the Du then you will really like this as there are a couple of really standout tracks which make the price of admission worth it!

  • Husker Du 101

Here is a great introduction to the sound that Husker Du created in the early days. Fast, thrash-punk along with brooding tunes that predated Emo by 2 decades. The blizkrieg speed of the tunes like "Punch Drunk" and "Blah Blah Blah" is contrasted by the slower tunes such as "Target" and "Statue". My personal favorite is "Everything Falls Apart". A great sampler of eary punk, and early Husker Du.
