I am going to solder the tip to the springy part as some of them spin loosely in tip pin. Intermittant contact could possibly damage my receiver or amps. I will get by with these but would not use them on high end items.

I suppose you get what you pay for coz they are relatively cheap but the quality leaves alot to be desired. The wires constantly fall out of the plug as the design does not allow for enough wire length to go through beyond the screw to anchor it in place. The useless hole right after where the wire stops is space that could have been used to hold more wire and hence make it more secure.
