The game finally gets it's due.
2300 AD has always been an intriguing universe, but it hasn't always been a good SYSTEM. Early versions had very cumbersome rules, and even the earlier Mongoose version just wasn't appealing. By adopting the tried-and-true standard Traveller rules as the basis for 2300, the game is finally easy to grasp. It's still a very different concept from the Third Imperium universe, but the basic rules are the same. 2300 AD is a "hard" sci-fi game, though, essentially extrapolating modern technology in every way except for the necessary interstellar drive. The new material is also beautifully executed (finally), with copious color illustrations and an uncramped format that makes the material easy to follow. This is basically the fourth edition for this item. I have played (now), all four. This one is easy to play, but still has the hard science aspect I expect from the game. Cudo's to the author and Mongoose for keeping this game alive. Thanks!!
