About this product

Product Information

Remember older, more nostalgic days of gaming with hours of exhilarating combat when you pick up a copy of Fighting Force for the PlayStation, which had an original release date in 1997. This installment in the annals of great beat 'em ups provides hours of bone-breaking fun for fans of the fighting genre of games. The Fighting Force's city is under siege. The villainous Dr. Zeng, leading an army of punks, gang members, and military personnel, has finally crossed the line and attempted to take full control of their home. The action-packed battle to take back the city crisscrosses urban landscapes before leading to more exotic locales. Only the Fighting Force can stop Dr. Zeng. Luckily, they have the skills and weapons they need to get the job done.Switch from a blazing flamethrower to a deadly grenade while clearing the streets of dangerous thugs and lead pipe-wielding gang members. Your choices in weapon are widespread as you pick up dropped weapons from foes as they fall before you. Jump kicks, high-speed punches, and brute strength keep the Fighting Force moving through seven 3-D areas that range through 20 levels of single or two-player battles. Join the Fighting Force as Hawk, Mace, Ben, or Alana, and use each character's special moves to devastate the enemies. Hawk and Ben are big, muscle-bound brutes whose physical strength is matched only by their hatred of Dr. Zeng. Mace and Alana, meanwhile, are fast, versatile warriors who can decimate the enemy with jump kicks. All four playable characters possess special moves that can be performed at the cost of a small amount of health. Knowing when to use the skills is just as important as knowing how in order to save your strength for the most intense parts of the battle. The game lets you jump from the rooftops, toss a car engine at a foe, or use a shotgun in defense to clean the streets of bad guys while learning each player's individual strengths. Take the battle from the office buildings to an island headquarters with the Fighting Force. There is no move too brutal to perform to beat your foes. The low system requirements of this classic mean that anyone with a Sony PlayStation console can insert the disc and start playing on their console. With a rating of T for Teen, Fighting Force is a sprawling good time. Although the fighting can get frantic and intense and splashes of pixelated blood are commonplace, swearing and sexual content are kept at a minimum in order to make the game accessible for a wide variety of ages and maturity levels. The game is recommended for gamers age 13 and older.Followed up by a sequel that was released for various systems such as Microsoft Windows PCs and the Nintendo 64, Fighting Force is a great game for anyone who wants to take a look into the past and enjoy sweet nostalgia.

    Good 3D Brawler

This an excellent original PlayStation game. It's a 3D Beat 'em up and is the spiritual successor to Streets of Rage. The graphics are pretty damn good for the time and still hold up today. My only complaint is that the move set is not as high as I'd like it to be. It's still a good game though, and a worthy addition to anyone's PlayStation collection.

  • Fighting Force Collector's Edition

Originally planned to be sold under the Streets of Rage brand, the plan changed and the game was renamed Fighting Force. My first impression playing the game was that it felt like a 3D Streets of Rage, so if you liked the Sega series, check this one out. The game is the most fun with another player, so if you plan on playing alone you may want to consider getting something else. The game seems a little short, and it doesnt have alot of replay value unforunately. When originally released, the game got middle of the road reviews, so for Fighting Force 2 the gameplay was changed significantly, so significantly no one bought the sequel, ultimately killing what could have been a multi-generation 3D brawler. If you're wondering about the "Collector's Edition", towards the end of the original ...

  • Fun right under your nose

Being that I only started playing videogames on playstation 10 years ago, I clearly miss the humorous sounds of the game characters clobbering each other Don't get me wrong, I've played videos back when pong on atari was big! Now, a little of the past doesn't make anyone less( for the younger generation )Try it out, graphics aren't up to todays expectations, but have fun with it, that's what counts!

  • Beat em up psx

If your a retro gamer you remember this game was equivalent to Streets of Rage 2. Beat em up awesomeness! This game doesn't hold up as well as sor2 but still a solid beat em up to play with a friend like its 1999.

  • Who needs Streets of Rage or Final Fight?..

This title out ways them both. Plus cartridges are obsolete. Content was flawless and cheap. An easy choice if u grew up with this nostalgia.
