New to sewing machines
I had NEVER ever used a sewing machine before, but got this one because we had quite a growing collection of things with little holes that needed to be fixed, or rehemed. The instructions that came with it are a bit confusing to figure out, took me over an hour just to get it threaded, but maybe I'm just dumb. A video would have been nice. I think that comes with the new ones but i got a refurbished one to save a little bit of money(not knowing i wouldn't get the video). The machine itself seems to be nice, and it has more options, and stuff then I will probably ever use. Using this machine (once you get it threaded) is much easier than fixing holes by hand. Quilting Dream.
I have always wanted to learn how to quilt, and I decided this year is the year for me to do it. I have not used a sewing machine since I was 15 and had to make an apron in Home Ecc. class (and not a good job of it at that). Well I needed a sewing machine and this one was in my price range, my thought was get something inexpensive and if i dont like quilting then i did not lose too much. Well let me tell you this little baby is one of the best for a beginner. It did not come with a 1/4 in foot but that was easily rectified by calling Brother and ordering one over the phone. Great machine for the money!
My old machine wore out. This one has less bells and whistles than my last machine, but I never used them all anyway! My only complaint is the spindle that holds the spool of thread is too thin and my spool spins too freely and thread builds up underneath it. Don't know why. But I think that's something I can solve.
