    Dream Sound

    Full harmonics, resonance, and tone. I'm not a rock singer. I sing jazz standards, and love the rich balanced tones this mic adds to my voice. Glad I spent the few extra dollars for this baby.

    great mic for vocals

    This is maybe one of the best mics out there for both live and studio applications, the great thing I found is that its polar pattern allows great output an clarity without feedback. I had used it in studio for snares, guitar amps and hard core voices, great pressure tolerance without distortion, very crisp and responsive. flat response to most frequencies between ~50hz to ~1khz. I would not use it for kick drums, bass, or hi-hats. For more detailed hi range instruments I would use a small diaphragm condenser, for softer voices a ribbon mic, other than that you can use this mic in almost any other application.

    Live performance is excelent of the Shure BETA 87C microphone.

    Performs very well on stage. The frequency response is excelent for wide ranging vocals. The sensitivity of the Shure BETA 87C is lower than expected but this helps with feedback issues. The mixer preamp has to be increased a bit more than normal, above 0db. If an in line effects box is used, it's preamp gain can be used to use a mixer setting of 0db. This works great.

    SHURE BETA 87C -- SIMPLY ONE OF THE BEST VOCAL MICS...

    I've been a musician and had a family band since 1975. I've worked with professional sound companies and I've been a professional emcee and disc jockey for more than two decades. I've used SHURE microphones almost exclusively for micing everything from vocals, acoustical instruments, electric amplifiers, to drums. SHURE makes some of the best microphones period. The SHURE BETA 87C, so far, has proven to to be my favorite vocal mic. It's clean, clear sound and responsiveness is 2nd to none. The SHURE BETA 87C is also very backfeed resistant. In my personal opinion, the SHURE BETA 87C is a fabulous microphone.

    87C deserves an A

    I am a KJ/DJ and this microphone fits my needs perfectly. There is no on/off switch for drunk karaoke enthusiasts to manipulate and the sound quality is unmatched. It is lightweight and can easily handle the mic cuppers, munchers, and those that won't let it come close to their lips.
