Latina (Linkohr) que pintan un panorama desolador para la región; por el otro, los discursos optimistas de los gobernantes de estos países y de instituciones como la CEPAL. Para ello, recorre los países emergentes durante tres años y entrevista a los actores más relevantes del futuro latinoamericano. Sus conclusiones son reveladoras y el autor se muestra asombrado por la rapidez con que ciertos países de características previas muy similares a las nuestras pudieron pasar de la pobreza y la desesperanza a la riqueza y el dinamismo.     Must read this if you're interested in Latin America.

    Oppenheimer has credibility and knowledge. This latest work explains in logical detail what the future of the Latin American region looks like. Those of us who have lived there understand the forces at play while those who are only casual shallow observers will get an education. Essentially, Oppenheimer reveals and documents how corruption, individualism,lack of judicial security, and continuity make the region poorly suited to compete in the global arena against more efficient and secure producers such as China and the European Union. Excellent reading....if you read Spanish.
