    This is a very thorough look at the genre of pulp fiction. The term pulp comes from the low grade of paper used to produce these novels. They date back from the beginning of the 20th century. They had their greatest popularity in the 1920's,30's, and 1940's.I am enthralled by the art of these books. The illustrations are quite graphic.Some of the art has been banned from the public, such as bondage or torture. It seems like most of the popular titles included a girl tied up or about to be ravaged, The sheer terror of this art caused what eventually brought about the comic book code. This code eliminated the violent and sexually explicit cover art in comics,pulps, and dime novels.This book takes the reader on a journey through the different styles of fiction.
