    Excellent product!

First time buying this kind of calculator and I have to say wow!Calculating very simple once you have the key strokes down "Which does not take any time at all". Great benefit being able to select the material, Find Drill sizes from tap, set "Proc" for Facing, milling and drilling, Just input the tool type - diam, doc, woc and off you go "Depending on your procedure". All that being said there are a few calculations/ features i hope they add in the future 1) Drill size to Thread, I thought i would be able to reverse the Thread to Dill size. Maybe you can, but the book does not cover it if so. 2)Would like to see Reamers and Roughing added to the "Proc". 3) Unless noted somewhere and i do not see in the manual possible a Peck for the drilling cycle per what type of drill you are using would ...

  • Unique and well designed for the wise minded machinist.

Ive owned the previous model of this calculator, and keep it in my pocket at all times. I use it every chance i get, and its saved me tons of time in calculating speeds and feeds for every type of machining operation. If you are working in an environment where both metric and imperial units are used and hundreds of different verities of tools come your way, you are going to want this calculator. It is simple to use and easy to learn. Tool distributer reps shouldn't be with out one, and any programmer will have their day made easy with one of these. It has all drill sizes, tap sizes, and tap drill sizes stored in its memory with easy access. I program circles around older more experienced individuals due to the fact that i can get the exact figures in a matter of seconds. This is definitely ...

  • Very powerful features and is a good value.

This is extremely well designed and engineers must have coordinated with real machinists. It is actually more powerful than what you might guess from just looking at the keyboard. For example, for units conversion and converting from linear to square to volume it has capability where each key press rotates through some possibilities. And depending on what you are trying to do, it changes how keys work automatically to make sense for what you are attempting. There is a little bit of a learning curve to do a deep dive into all of its features, but not bad. Comes with a very good printed manual. Physically, it feels sufficiently robust for using in a shop. I found that this company makes many similar calculators for many other trades so this is something they are clearly dedicated to.

  • Loaded with features, convenient

Nice big display is easy to read. Buttons are large enough for big fingers to press without hitting two at once. It has many capabilities and functions that I will probably not use, but it is nice to know that the capability is there if I need it. Very simple to get the information you need with a few button presses. It does take some time to get used to the required button press sequence for different tasks. At first frequent reference to the manual or quick chart is required. I am not a pro machinist, just a hobbyist so this is maybe a bit too advanced for me. It is so nice to have this in my toolbox to look up specifications for threading, sfm's rpms'. Standard trig functions and calculator functions make this a handy addition to the toolbox.

  • Indispensable

I have been in the trade for years and this machine takes the stress out of every day calculations that we do. Trig is easier now, not that it has ever been hard. Conversions from imperial to metric are a breeze. I have the Machinist Calc Pro which has and still does me well but the big difference with the Pro 2 is the addition of materials. What a step up in productivity this feature makes. Of course all the other features like threading and drill sizes continue to be used extensively. A must have for all machinists.
