    One of the best bands ever

    This is an awesome CD that has several hits that are still hits today. I bought it since I've been a fan since the bands inception. I owned it on several media types but nothing sounds better than a CD. It also is one of Van Halen CD's with David Lee Roth. He was a much better singer and band member than was Sammy Hagar. Do my best recollection, Roth left the band and went on his own...that didn't last long since he was a flop solo. All in all this is a CD you can play and hear songs that were popular "back in the day". It's hard to go wrong with a band that's withstood the stand of time.

    the 1st VH album of a new era!

    Many things has been said of Van Halen that represented a generation of thrill-seekers that demanded a new direction of rock n roll. Van Halen's self-titled album fits the bill that kids were looking for and being mesmerized by eddie van halen's guitar solo in "eruption" which broke ground for further guitar solos by many other rock bands. Here are eleven classic songs that defined Van halen as a force to reckoned with the strung-up kinks classic "you really got me" to the laid back acoustic intro of "ice cream man." If you've never heard of Van Halen then get this album and see what everybody's talking about! A definite listen from 1978 that defined the rock music of the eighties.
