    Foxtrot

This cd sounds great ,takes me back to a simplar time even though the music on this cd is anything but simple. This cd is one of my favorite genesis cds which also includes original singer Peter Gabriel with Phil Collins on drums and backing vocals. Just a great cd.

  • SOLID PROGROCK

Being a former musician, I appreciate the very professional manner these musicians compliment one another. The arrangements are remarkable given the limitations their technology at the time posed. I have heard the pop music that later incarnations of this band played (who hasn't?). There is a real jazz influence to be found here in Foxtrot. A real spirit of questioning in the lyrics (which are both powerful and at times bizarre). Spend your money on this album, get Selling England, Nursery Cryme and The Lamb (also the Live album). Forget all the rest unless you just like corny music that reminds you of the past.

  • An excellent introduction

This was the first Genesis album I ever bought. I fell in love with it immediately . This is a good choice if you're trying to get into the Peter Gabriel era of Genesis, when they still made progressive rock. I wasn't too thrilled with the opener, "Watcher of the Skies." It sounds very futuristic and Gabriel's vocals are amazing, but the song is much too repetitive for my taste. Also, it contains about a minute and a half mellotron intro, which it is cool, but it seems to go on for an eternity. Track two, "Time Table" could've been a single, if people were more open-minded. It's one of their shorter songs, only 4:47 and reminds you of days of old, when Kings and knights still roamed the land. Very pretty song, some wonderful wordplay in the ...

  • Genesis best album ever at a bargain price.

This album shows the original Genesis at their peak. The imagery of the the lyrics is strange and amazing with musical performances that are original, complex, challenging and truly beautiful. I have listened to this album for years, but both my vinyls and my MP3 download always had problems on Supper's Waiting (Conspiracy???). This album is flawless and even includes lyrics to these gems. Now I can get shivers listening to Supper's Ready without also having to cringe when the recording skips (Vinyl) or includes odd snippets of other tunes embedded into it (Thanks to MP3). Finally, I can bliss out and follow the lyrics at th same time. I've reached Nirvana!

  • Good old school CD

I have been a Genesis fan for a long time... Just now getting into older Peter Gabriel Genesis.
