The NetGear WGT624 Wireless-g Router is a wireless-g router that comes with stateful packet inspection (SPI) and network address translation (NAT) to provide secure connectivity. This NetGear router uses NAT firewall with multi-virtual private network (VPN) pass-through for added protection against Internet attacks. The NetGear WGT624 Wireless-g Router uses Super GTM Technology to deliver speeds of up to 108 Mbps, and provides lag-less multimedia streaming over long ranges. This wireless-g router supports up to 253 networked computers, and auto-partitioning on each port. Router Version 4 is great
The Netgear wireless router, VERSION 4, is great. Other versions do not work as well. Version 4 is fast and stable. Setup is really easy and it is quite reliable.

The good: SPI firewall; excellent throughput; content filtering. The bad: Incomplete installation guide; lacks WDS support Other features, such as an SPI firewall and support for Dynamic DNS, make the WGT624 a good choice for techies who are looking for a high-performance wireless router and are willing to perform an occasional firmware upgrade. get a Wireless-N for about the same price, you'll be better off
The WGT624 is a solid working wireless-G router with all the standard features, but many people are misled about some of it's features.. the router is capable of wireless rates upto 108mbps.. but only if you use a Netgear 108mbps adapter card on your computer. the 108MBPS speeds also only work on wireless channel 6, which is a commonly used 'default' channel for wireless, and usually swamped with interferance because of this.. therefor, transmission rates drop drastically. As a straight wireless-g (54mbps) router, it's solid, and finds the clearest channel on it's own, with decent range as long as you dont stick it in a corner (as with any wireless router.. walls do block signals). Luckily, this router can be wall/cieling mounted, which increases range quite a bit. The WGT624 is also ... The NetGear Wireless Routers are very simple to install and will normally provide wireless service for the entire house. Buying a used unit can be a problem if the unit does not come with the software CD. Without the CD the internet is the source for installing and progrmming the NetGear Router. The website is easy to find with any search engine. The problem arises when the previous owner changed the login name and password from their default settings. Without the login name and password the website is useless. Don't dispare. There is a reset button on the back of the router. It takes a paperclip or toothpick to activate the reset since the button is recessed. After resetting the router, just set up the router to perform as desired. Solid Router for the money
I first used this router 4? years ago...got an extra one when I moved to a bigger house. 1 upstairs, 1 downstairs. Pretty solid for the money...easy to set up and use...and has the ability to be customized to my needs. Good speeds too...
