I bought this cd for 1 song and I was happy that the cd had been mastered well. There were other great songs on the cd, but nothing from the 1960's surpasses the joyousness and sense of spirit, that "The Rain, The Park and Other Things" embodies. I love that pop masterpiece! The innoncent harmonies, the lyrics, the production. I don't love that it is a typical 1960's pop song of less than 3 minutes. Someone should remix this song to make an extended version, or even do a wonderful cover version. The number of songs on the cd is a little dissapointing, but for the price, no complaints. Overall, a great buy of hard to find artists in Australia. Highly recommended for lovers of true "sunshine pop".I bought this cd for 1 song and I was happy that the cd had been mastered well. For 1960s music fans
If you like the typical bubble gum pop sound of the late 1960s, you will love this disc. Only a music genius could have arranged the vocals for such songs as 'The Rain, The Park and Other Things', as well as 'Hair'. The Cowsills join the ranks of the under rated groups of the 1960s. It is rather puzzling that they did not become a super group of the 1970's like the Osmonds or the Jacksons, however, some of the greatest music groups had short life spans, like the Mamas and The Papas. Not all of the songs have a bubble gum sound. 'Hair' is a little psychedelic and 'In need of a friend' is well worth a listen. Out of the twelve songs on the disc, at least half are worth owning.
