I have owned one these since July 2006 since 1080P was introduced. At that time the price was $9000. I have only put 1100 hrs on the lamp in 10 years. The lamp is good for at least 2500 hours. I now own three of these thanks to sellers on Ebay. I use one for movies and the other two for gaming and sports. Although 1080p has been replaced by 4K projectors, these 1080p projectors can now be purchased at a bargain on Ebay. The lamp will shut down at 2500 hours but can be reset to extend the life to 300-400 hours. The downside is the replacement cost of the 400 watt zenon lamp assembly. Hard to find one under $800. If you do not want to spend big dollars for a 4K projector then this is the way to go. Another nice feature is it has a short throw distance. You only have to be 12 feet away from a 112" 235:1 screen to fill the whole screen.Read full review

We bought ours in 2005 and have used it at least 3 times a week every week since. We just bought a new house and was very happy to see that the it came with the same projector already installed!
i love the projector because it looks brand new and so far is working beautiful.i would say SONY is one of the best.
