Does not heat up. I have a model 853D solder station which this soldering iron is supposed to work with. Made sure connection to solder station was secure. Also measured resistance at connector and compared to old iron. Pins 1-2 old unit 16.8 ohms, new unit 3.3 ohms. Pins 4-5 old unit 1.0 ohm, new unit 48 ohms. Looks like new unit is not compatible with 853D.

Fast shipping. Ordered on 2-26, arrived on 3-2, 5 days with leap year. Well packaged. The soft spikes fit my Footjoy, Dryjoys, fast twist system. Haven’t worn them on course yet, as to how they work and stay in. They seemed to fit snug, like the originals. They seemed to be a fraction smaller, but no longer than these things last for me, wasn’t a big deal.,The price was better than the originals. I’ll re-order when I need more, as long as they work like the originals…
