Powerfull old tech Goodness.
iT IS A POWERFUL BOARD,but you have to remember that it is older tech once you have all the information that you need to work with it, it is very good, it is a popular board which makes it easy to research any problems that might arise, I love the x58 technology so I was looking for something like this, If this is your first x58 board, remember that you might have to update your bios if you want to use a xeon, this board was originally made for i7 cpu. I have mistakenly sent back boards that work, not knowing that you have to update the bios, but you also need a i7 cpu to get the board to post, so that you can update. I I have a x5675, with twenty four gigs of memory, and a sapphire radeon 470 eight gig card. I could not play x4 foundations with my amd 8350 cpu, so I decided that I would try the x58 platform, I am able to play x4 foundations with a crazy amount of extensions installed, with no slow downs, no overheating, or resets. It is just crazy that something this old can still perform like this.

X58 Chipset Motherboard where all 6 memory slots work! I have owned and used a number of different X58 chipset motherboards over the years and I have run into the problem where only half of the memory slots work on most of them no matter what I tried. The Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard DOES NOT have this problem. With the Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard I have been able to consistently utilize all 6 memory slots to run a total of 24GB of RAM. Being able to completely utilize all 6 memory slots and run 24GB of ram on an X58 chipset is why I give this motherboard full marks.X58 Chipset Motherboard where all 6 memory slots work!
