    UNPROGRAMING

OK! Thus far, the programming including the auto channels and clock setting is retained over the days but recorder timing can be problematic. I simply set the timer and turned the unit off, but that was not enough. It took me some time to figure the problem out!

    Was not a working product

Door was broke for the VCR, tried to use the VCR and it ate the tapes, still tried to use the DVR part of the machine by att another VCR by other cords and it still wouldn’t record DVDs. This was not a working machine.

  • Extremely poor design.

It works. That's about all the good I can say about it. By far the worst design flaw is that even though the VCR video has to be digitized for DVD recording, you can't get the VCR video on the HDMI connector. What this means is that if you want a nice digital HD signal for your TV, you must use two inputs and two cables. One HDMI for the DVD and another composite set for the VCR. Following a close second is the incredibly slow input. You push a button and you wonder if it's going to do nothing, which it does a lot, or if it's just being slow, which it also does a lot. My grandfather uses it to put his old art videos onto DVD, and neither one of us can figure out a procedure which works consistently for this. Sometimes you just have to turn it off and ...

  • Will not work to record copy writed TV programs!

I bought this unit on Ebay! The many reason I bought it was to record programs from my DishNetwork DVR so that I could free up hard drive space to record more things. When I first received the unit, I was very impressed. I thought it looked relativly pretty nice. I liked the layout of the buttons on both the front panel and the remote. I read through the manual and it seamed pretty easy to use. Then I hooked it up and began to test it! The on-screen menus were layed out very nice and everything seamed pretty straight forward. I tryed playing a DVD and a VHS Tape which were both very easy. Then I tryed coping from VHS to DVD AND DVD to VHS. Again very easy. Then I set up the tuner which also was real easy and it found all my Standard Def and Digital channels. So far, I have to ...

  • Stupid Electronics

This is the worst DVD/VCR recorder I have ever owned. First of all the infrared sensor is not powerful enough. I have to litterally point the remote directly at the unit to get a response. Even if I get a response it is slow so you are not sure if you have to try again to get it to change channels. Second, if you want to record a DVD, don't plan on using it on another DVD player because it will not recognize the DVD. I tried 3 other DVD players and it would not play. For this reason, why bother dubbing a VHS to DVD if it won't play on anything else. Third, the VHS will not play through the S-video output, you have to use composite. Also the tape gets jammed on occasion. Forth, the upscaling using HDMI is very bad quality. Compared to playstation 3 upscaling it is very blurry. Fifth, ...
