The item was listed as new and actually looked new, unlike other items I have purchased on ebay. There was a tiny chip in the cutting edge near the tip and also two small scratches on the blade near the locking mechanism. Unfortunately, minor defects like these are not unusual on Kershaw knives.

Knife had Kershaw on box and side of blade but is a china knock off. Scales are flat, squared off and slightly rough. Blade did not open as smoothly as I remember. The origional 1595 had smooth, rounded edges with a slight bulge in the handle. Opening was very smooth, with a solid snap. Also had a blade lock in the closed position.
