About this product

Product Information

Take your computer gaming to fresh heights with the XFX AMD Radeon R9 270X. This graphics card is designed for gaming enthusiasts who refuse to settle for mediocre graphics. The XFX AMD Radeon R9 290X supports fluid 4K resolution gaming. This GPU also supports AMD Eyefinity display technology which allows multiple PC monitor ouput. This video card packs 1280 cores and 2GB of 256-bit GDDR5 VRAM with a 5600MHz memory clock speed. The card also features AMD TrueAudio technology, which delivers breathtaking, superior sound for immersive gameplay. Quieter and cooler than most graphics card in its class, it makes for a more energy efficient choice. The XFX AMD Radeon R9 290X graphics cards compatible with a wide range of desktop motherboards from brands like ASUS and Gigabyte. The GPU plugs right into an empty PCI Express slot on your motherboard. The XFX AMD Radeon R9 270X graphics card utilizes the PCIe 3.0 x16 interface on the motherboard and comes with double dissipation fan to keep it cool. Displayport and HDMI output is supported along with dynamic GPU scaling. The GPU cores can increase from the 1000MHz clock to 1050MHz with boost. This video card also supports AMD Mantle API and AMD Trueaudio technologies. XFX Ghost Thermal 2.0 Technology XFX’s exclusive ghost thermal 2.0 design creates a floating heatsink with open airflow between the PCB and the cover. With this, air ventilates off the card and simultaneously cools the core process and components. Also this card includes a heat tested lightweight plastic. You get a lighter thermal, which reduces GPU strain. AMD Power Tune 2.0 Smart Performance Tuning AMD PowerTune technology ensures optimized performance for TDP-constrained GPUs. AMD PowerTune technology takes performance up another notch: It’s optimized to the GPU’s thermal limits by dynamic adjustment of the clock during runtime based on an internally calculated GPU power assessment. AMD PowerTune technology dynamically adjusts the performance profile in real time to fit within the TDP envelope. 6X Tessellation Technology XFX graphics cards offer high-quality tessellation capabilities, yet they still maintain the highest performance. AMD makes no sacrifices. You get the rich detail you demand of your games without any slowdown of the experience. See bumps in the road, the weaving in fabrics, and the rippling of the sea with high-tessellated graphics from XFX Improved Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing (MSAA) Technology. If you have a black curved line on a white background on your computer screen, you may notice some jaggedness along its edges due to the inherent limitations of using discrete pixels for imaging display. Anti-aliasing smooths out this pixelated look by filling in white spaces with varying shades of gray. This gives you the smooth soft shadows, the sharp lines of a skyscraper, and the crisp, intricate details of a character’s clothing that make your gaming experience out of this world.

Great fit for my older Linux PC

I've used NVidia for decades, but needed to revive an older PC. Even though the PC has on-board graphics and the NVidia chipset, Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon only seemed to work in software rendering mode. Video playback just wasn't possible. This card fixed that instantly. I didn't have to setup anything special since the Radeon drivers are open source and natively supported. All I had to do was to change the sound output to be routed over HDMI. MPlayer doesn't work correctly with this card (everything turns red in the video), but VLC works great. I haven't tried Steam or other gameplay on this setup.

  • Great value, watch who you're buying from.

Amazing graphics card for the price you can buy it for. I bought mine for around $60-$70 used and it performs well. Benchmarks show it performs similarly to a GTX1050ti and it really does. Only issue is that one of the fans is giving out and is making alot of rattling noise and doesn't spin as fast. It's a really easy fix and for around $13 more, you can buy the DUAL-X replacement fans that will return the card to being silent.

  • I'd buy it again.

Runs quiet, cool and as well as you'd expect a good graphics card to run.

  • Reliable

For the price, these are good cards for general use these days.

  • So far doesn't work

I've installed it in 3 different PCs with absolutely no luck in getting it to work. I've read that it's a driver conflict in windows 10 but even after contacting AMD to get the official fix it's still doesn't function
