  • Top favorable review

A mix of highs and lows, but definitely skewing high

I took a risk on this after seeing so many positive reviews, and I must admit I'm pleasantly surprised. The glass is typical for a modern, budget-conscious LPVO in that it has a very subtle haziness to it, but it is nonetheless bright and, more impressively, relatively flat. I would tentatively describe it as neatly splitting the difference between the Tango MSR (with its phenomenally flat center but heavily distorted edges) and SLx Gen IV (which has a clean FOV but suffers a disruptive level of "swim"). A happy medium, if you will. The reticle is also quite nice, small enough not to dominate the image yet intuitive and informative enough for most practical applications, albeit lacking some of the now-common supplements. The illumination is likewise admirable. The eyebox on 1x is just kind ...

  • Purchased for the Reticle and Magnifier adjustment. Very nice.

I bought this scope for the ballistic duplex style reticle and magnifier adjustment arm. This is a nice scope from Burris. At 1-6x, BDC is only useful beyond 300yds. At that point, you'll inherently be using full magnification. In that case, SFP works great and the reticle remains sufficiently large for viewing.

  • Would buy another one

Don't hesitate, buy it. Glass is extremely clear and bright, from edge to edge, 1 or 6 power. Adjustments are a bit stiff, but better than loose. Im sure they will smooth up a bit with use. Perfect for 5.56. Reticle was spot on for 62 grain bullets, zeroed @100 yds. 6x is plenty for 200-300 yds, had no trouble hitting clays @ those distances. Leupold, I love you but this scope is every bit as good as your 1x6 @ less than half the price.

  • Excellent close to midrange defense/hunting optic

This is a great optic for a hunting, defense or plinking rifle. It seems to be a true 1 power and has quite a bit of zoom at 6 power. The image is bright and clear throughout the magnification range. The supplied throw lever is great and can be placed in and position around the magnification dial. This is a really nice touch. I’m very pleased I chose this optic. The one small criticism I have is that I wish the lowest illumination setting was more dim for precision shots at last light when you need just a touch of illumination. As it is it’s a bit too bright to see dim details right around the illuminated dot.

  • Burris knocks it out of the park again.

I'm consistently satisfied with every Burris product I've owned. Only company I keep going back to because I think it's a tremendous value for your dollars. I mounted this on my........"modern sporting rifle", and it's great. A friend has a similar setup, but he's running a vortex viper PST gen II. We swapped rifles and shot them side by side, just to see the difference. There IS a slight difference, with the vortex being slightly clearer and brighter. Also the dot system is a bit better in the vortex. But he paid $600, I paid $302 delivered. We both agreed that there wasn't $298 worth of difference and I got the better bargain.
