    Shipped poorly, came with three broken pieces and it would not function, company tried to do a return outside eBay over the phone. Once they received the return then try to give partial refund because I shipped it back poor. I shipped it in two new heavy duty boxes with thick base and it was dry when they received it. I got it looking like it to a dip in a lake and a truck ran over it, it did have plenty of packing peanuts . I see why their rating is so low.

    HP P1005 works great.

    Purchased 5 of these printers over the years (all used) and all were great printers. Paper doesn't jam, prints cleanly, very quiet. Oh, and replacement toner cartridges are about $10. So if you just want to print something reliably and cheaply, get this printer.

    I guess I have to purchase one that is refurbished. Live and learn.

    It arrived dead, could not get the computer to read it. I still have another that works and the my computer printed, but the one that arrived does not work and the cover is cracked.

    Fast basic printer with a small footprint

    Great basic mono laser printer by HP - prints fast and clear - Small size for a laser printer, takes up very little desk or shelf space! Perfect for students living in residence or anyone that has limited space for a printer - Print quality is very good - Doesn't have all the bells & whistles, duplex printing is manual and connection is USB 2.0 - If all you need is a good basic black & white printer that is economical to operate, then this is a printer for you - Will accept compatible toner cartridges no problem - Replacement toner cartridges are very reasonably priced from various sellers on eBay!

    Reliable, dependable, and inexpensive

    I have purchased 4 of these printers, all used, and they all have performed beyond my expectations. Expect to pay $50 for unit (used) and <$10 for toner. Printing is crisp and quick, and honestly so far have never even had one paper jam. If you want everything in a printer, there are many alternatives. If you want to print without hassle, get a P1005.
