    ZMM - better than a battery. A small, but important improvement.

    I was surprised to see that this unit does not have an actual battery to maintain the cache in the event of power loss. Instead it has a big capacitor which is intended to keep the circuitry powered on long enough to dump the cache to flash RAM. (Zero Maintenance Module - ZMM) This has the advantage of maintaining the cache data indefinitely instead of just a few days. It also means we don't have to continuously replace the cache batteries. Having a little trouble getting ARCCONF to work with VMware. When I installed it, I got the PSOD several times before I uninstalled it. I'm sure Adaptec support can help me.

    Management issues with ESXi 6.0 on X10SRI-F motherboard

    I'm not sure what is the reason, but all 6 Series Adaptec RAID controllers fail when CIM driver is loaded. Otherwise this item works perfectly.

    Great controller from the past for little money.

    Despite its venerable age, the controller is still capable of providing a good level of performance and reliability. Supporting hard drives up to 12TB with firmware 5.3.0 is just superb.
