    AKG K240's from 2001 still blows my mind to this day

    I've had a pair of these before and they lasted for more than 10 years. I bought another because my older pair has seen better days. For the price, the quality, and the sound quality is astonishing for a simple professional product. Recommended for Mastering and Mixing along with the everyday listening to music. On phones they might not output the highest volume but they're 55ohms. They need some kind of basic amplifier hence why they're for professional use. 5/5 , Love AKG.

    great sound... if you fix it a bit

    first, let me get it out of the way that I am by no means an audiophile, but I do appreciate good sound quality and so... that's my perspective. I got these and almost cried... I had never experienced music like that before. a wider sound stage, clarity, detail and sharpness, and overall just awesome... until you realize just how dead they sound. now, they are neutral... very very neutral, but unless that's what you want and you're dead set on, you're going to want to eq them. to describe them before the eq I would have to say they were, in a word, recessed. the vocals felt far away and like there was a sheet of paper or something separating you from them. the bass was almost non existent, and even instruments didn't have that "punch" that they normally do. so... I boosted the lower ...

    Comfortable and great audio quality

    I really like these headphones. As an audio Producer, I have worn various brands and models, but these are by far the most comfortable and flat sounding. That said, the left ear in this particular pair is noticably quieter than the right ear, which makes mixing with them a bit of a challenge. All in all, I am happy with them though.

    Clear Ane Detailed

    A very clear and detailed sound. A headphone amplifier is recommended due to it's low volume when used with portable devices. I ordered velour replacement ear pads, which were a big improvement over the original plastic ear pads. Geekria replacement ear pads are made to fit specific models of headphones. So, they make a model specifically for the AKG K240 headphones, that fit perfectly. Highly recommended, when used with a headphone amplifier and velour replacement ear pads.
