About this product

Product Information

Dawn of Mana, as the title suggests, focuses on the origins of Square's Secret of Mana action RPG series, touching upon the genesis of both the Mana Tree and the Sword of Mana. The game takes place on the once idyllic island named Illusia, where the life-giving Mana Tree has dried up and turned to stone. In desperate need of a hero, Illusia calls upon one of its own to save the land from a dire threat. Players will guide this young warrior on an epic quest that will have them adventuring across a completely 3D world for the first time in the series. From majestic plains to towering mountains, the interactive environments in Dawn of Mana offer an assortment of places to visit, characters to meet, and creatures to battle. The combat system once again unfolds in real-time, with players able to jump, slash with a sword, fire projectiles, and even swing a whip that can attach itself to objects.

    A good forgotten game

A good forgotten game. The latest game in the main Mana series, it features different gameplay and an interesting story.

  • Top critical review

    Ok

The game wasn't like new. It had several scratches. Including one decently sized one. I haven't tested the disk but I was a little disappointed. The case was in decent condition

  • A very nice enjoyable game

This game is a nice Action Adventure game. I have not totally completed this as of this moment but from what I have play, It is a fun game. The Environments are beautiful and there is lots of stuff to bash up and throw around like monsters and parts of the environment. The story was not an amazing story but it was still a good one. The music is great and well done. I also liked how there was an arena where you could use pets, items, and such for fighting. There was a few things I did not like such as some of the jumps were difficult and the targeting system was hard to use at times. Some camera angles made it hard sometimes to see your enemies or the state they were in. Overall, this was a game that was pretty well done, I give it a 4/5. and I would recommend it to others

  • Nice product. Good value.

Bought it because I loved the original legend of mana game from the playstation 1. So far it is an interesting game although the gameplay system can get a little confusing and I hate the camera action. It takes a while to learn the buttons and movements well enough to really get into the game. Interesting story although I'm not to far yet and the guidebook was a good investment for tips and help with the boss monsters. Like it though for it's close resemblance to the original game. I have games I like more but this is still a very likeable game. I would recommend it for those who liked the original.

  • eeeaaaaaa...

decent graphics, controll needed more time put into it, sound effects are a little above average. but NOT true to the mana series, i mean cmon square youve had what almost 15 years to improve on the mechanics of this series from the SNES, and what did you do took a large step backwards. you did the same thing to the saga series when you brought it to PS2. im starting to lose faith in your ability to bring out games that truly capture my intrest, hell FF is even starting to loose its luster. the ps3 is now out the ps2 has been out almost what 8 years and you still cant master the controll and camera actions. lets hope that you have some much better luck deving for the PS3.!
