    Galactica 1980

The last of the original Battlestar series which are not included in the anthologies. The stories are not as engaging as the earlier series - perhaps the reason it was panned by most reviewers. Nevertheless, I found it somewhat entertaining since I missed many of the original broadcasts back in the day.

  • Classic BSG Last Season a reminder to studioosfans to know when to quit

This is the Last Season of the Original Battle Star Galactica Series with the Season Before it last Episode side plot being them recieving the Apollo Moon landing TV broadcast at one of their abandoned Observation decks Starbuck and Apollo happened to be in The one I recieved had the unusual case format of Disk 2 being partially under disk one in a slimcase design which is a little inconvienent if I want the second disk The Promos includde the newer battlestar galactica promos which was a suprise as I didn't know it was a "kosher" reboot till then...still wont watch it..Im a hard Core,no alternative Original BSG fan..lol The first 4 eppisodes are actually the last Season befiore it was pulled for a lack popularity..bascally since the main plot was accomplished...they made ...

  • It's so bad, that you gotta see it just for the experience.

I have to be honest, I watched this series when I was 9 years old during it's original airing, and even then thought it was lame. Which was disappointing, because I loved the original series. I bought this just in case as a kid I didn't get it, and maybe I would love it now. Unfortunately it is just as bad now. The only redeeming factor about this series was the episode in which Starbuck appears, and the fact that you can get the entire series dirt cheap. I would reccomend picking it up only for the single episode, that features starbuck and to complete your Battlestar Galactica video collection. This series is a bigger disappointment to the BSG franchise, than The Star Wars Holiday special was to that one.

  • A blast into the past

I did not remember all the details as a child in this series but I knew I loved Battlestar Galactica. Watching this series put a smile on my face and I had a great time strolling down memory lane. There are a couple of corny parts like when they introduce that the Capricians are stronger because our gravity on Earth is much weaker than theirs was. YA Right!!!! They were in outerspace for a couple of generations!!! But remembering Dr Z, and going back in time to save the germans from getting advanced technology, and Jamie the news reporter woman was a lot of fun.

  • Galactica 1980: The Complete Series (DVD, 2007, 2-Disc

Galactica 1980: The Complete Series (DVD, 2007, 2-Disc Set) comes in a well packaged box and is ten episodes in length. This was the continuation of the original 1979 TV series, Battlestar Galactica with Lorne Green as Commander Adama, Richard Hatch as Apollo and Dirk Benedict as Starbuck. This 1980 final season jumps ahead 30 years to find Apollo and Starbuck now deceased and Apollo's step-son "Boxy" from 1979 now a grown warrior "Troy" played by Adam-12's Kent McCord. Galactica finally reaches Earth just ahead of the Cylons and finding the planet at it's lower level of technology must battle time and the evil Xavier to bring Earth up to speed before the Cylons arrive. I was so sad to see this series end as it had so much potential. As with so many ...
